Fingers crossed as FG and ASUU meet today

Fingers of Nigerian students remain crossed as The Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) meet today on the on-going strike embarked upon by university lecturers over the non-implementation of the 2009 FG/ASUU agreement.
Last week, both parties had met with the Senate and House of Representatives Joint Committee on Education to find a lasting solution to the awful situation, but the meeting ended in logjam and both groups were told to go back and reconsider their positions to come back on a later date.

The hopes of Nigerian students are high as this meeting could lead to the end of the over three weeks old industrial action. Let’s all hope and pray they do not burst our bubble again.
